SECURITY OFFICER TRAINING

Program Description:

 

The Security Officer course prepares students for a career in the security field under the guidelines outlined in the Business and Professions Code 7853.5.  At the conclusion of the course the students will receive a state recognized license, security Officers patrol/inspect property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, etc. These professionals protect their employer’s assets and investments, enforce laws on the property, and deter criminal activity and other problems. They use radio and telephone communications to call for assistance from police, fire, or emergency medical services as the situation dictates. Security Officers write comprehensive reports outlining their observations and activities during their assigned shift. For completion, students must attend a minimum of 96 hours and pass a final Power to Arrest exam. Starting salaries range from $18.00 to $28.00 an hour.
